Semperey Magazine was invited today to a special behind the scenes preview of the upcoming Tommy Nutter’s exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum .
About the designer
Tommy Nutter was trained in traditional tailoring on Savile Row before setting up his House of Nutter (financed by Cilla Black, James Vallance White, and Beatles’ executive Peter Brown), which opened on Valentine’s Day 1969.
Since its opening, the staid and
traditional world of Seville Row entered a new era. The shop created a sensation with its bold window displays and original tailoring. Nutter’s best known customers included Mick Jagger, Elton John and Eric Clapton. Three of his suits were worn by The Beatles on the famous front cover of Abbey Road.
