With less than two weeks to go before the start of another exciting season of racing at Goodwood, finishing touches are being made at the racecourse in preparation for our first race meeting on Saturday 5th May, aided by a much-needed 30mm of rainfall over the past week!
‘Opening Saturday’ gets underway at 2.15pm and includes a full seven-race card, featuring the EBF Conqueror Stakes and EBF Daisy Warwick Fillies’ Stakes. The day comes to a close with the final race at 5.40pm. Gates open at 11.30am so why not make a real day of it and arrive early to soak up the atmosphere and get ready for an action-packed afternoon’s racing.
To make it easier to get there, Stagecoach will be offering a free bus shuttle service from Chichester railway station to Goodwood Racecourse with departures from 10.15am onwards. The last return journey departs 30 minutes after racing finishes.
There are four additional meetings in May, with midweek racing on Thursday 10th followed by our popular three-day May Festival, which runs from Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th.
