Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan met at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, established by Sir Paul McCartney. They discovered their unique synergy, commenced co-creative projects, and Green Children music was born. Feel The Light is the new launch for Autumn 2012, offering a new dimensional perspective that is entirely in keeping with the vast changes we are all currently exposed to on a global level. It is a time for deep and lasting change that assists us to make the required shift to move swiftly and seamlessly into a brighter future.
Feel the Light
The title track of Green Children’s new EP sets the theme and tone, which is certainly about feeling and moving with that flow in life. The catchy tune is familiar to Green Children’s earlier CD Encounter, a very desirable track with a beat that you will want to dance/tap/nod to.
Possessed
The second track on “Feel the Light” EP seems to step in a new direction regarding musical style, and as much as I have enjoyed their music to date, I always like to be pleasantly surprised in a profound manner. Can you perfect that which is already there? Feel the Light proves this is possible, that we can always evolve to more refined levels, however far we have already refined our creative talents. Possessed is radically different than the previous album, and refuses to be “pigeonholed”. It is dynamic and mesmerizing in ways reminiscent of Encounter, yet I find the music layering to be more complex – yet perfectly and seamlessly blending and flowing.
Kisses from the Sky
I feel a sublime aura of freedom as I listen to this track, and I notice an evolution of Green Children’s musical style, to expand and encompass so much more. The liberating style of Kisses from the Sky does not desire to be put into a box and named, thus it is hard to say it is of a pop style, relaxation or other, as it is unique unto itself, perhaps containing all and more, yet in an indefinable highly pleasing style that I could listen to repeatedly (and indeed I have). Weaving their signature warmth of character, whimsical/mystical/magical style blends, merges, rather like a kaleidoscope of music, showering you with positive emotions and inspiration.
The overall summary of Feel The Light is expansion beyond limitation. Soaring to new heights may invoke a feeling of liberation accompanied by unsteadiness as the old crumbles, yet Feel The Light embodies a steady flow that arises from sustained continuous change.
