Oerley Hall, Shropshire, will provide the perfect showcase for the highly individual pieces of Stamford-based antique dealer Matthew Cox.
From September, the Grade || listed Georgian Hall will be home to a selection of Matthew’s rare and desirable 18th and 19th century antiques alongside his new bespoke range of lighting and furniture.
The hall is located high in the hills, west of Oswestry. Matthew’s pieces will become part of the lived in space for owner and fellow antique dealer Sara Waterworth, her husband and their three sons. Work from established sculptors and artists including Alex Uxbridge will also feature.
When asked about this alternative approach to showcasing, Matthew said: “it’s a great opportunity for clients to see pieces in-situ, Oerley will provide the perfect space and setting for my collection.”
A charity garden party ‘Oerley Hall Project: Series 1’, will run from 14-20 September and includes a Christie’s valuation day on 18 September. Event proceeds will go to the British Red Cross. Further events are planned throughout the coming year, making Oerley Hall a distinguished and variant destination for trade, enthusiasts and designers in Art, Antiques and Interiors.
