This year, the “BLOOM Pick Your Own Strawberries pop-up” will be returning to Covent Garden for the second time, marrying together two of the happiest activities: strawberry picking – one of Britain’s most iconic past times – and drinking gin. From Tuesday 11 June to Thursday 13 June guests will be able to immerse into the idyllic atmosphere of strawberry picking, right in the middle of Central London. The week will celebrate World Gin Day, which falls on Saturday 15 June.
The BLOOM Pick Your Own Strawberries pop-up will recreate the simple charm of the English countryside with rows upon rows of real strawberry plants ready to be picked and plucked with the sounds of country birds chirping and the smell of freshly cut grass. From 12pm – 7pm every day the general public will be able to enjoy the BLOOM sanctuary before enjoying their perfect BLOOM Gin & Tonic with Strawberries. With World Gin Day coming up to its fifth year, the BLOOM Pick Your Own experience will be a perfect way for gin connoisseurs to mark the continued love of gin and its ever growing popularity.
The year for gin & strawberries
This year has seen an undoubted revival of gin with everything from The Great Gatsby Gin Rickey to the traditional Gin Martini appearing on cocktail menus around the UK. Industry figures show sales at the top end of the gin market soared by as much as 145% in the past 12 months*. BLOOM is leading this resurgence with its BLOOM Pick Your Own Strawberries pop-up giving city dwellers the chance to discover the delicate and floral botanicals in BLOOM Gin and enjoy a lighter gin drinking experience.
This year ‘home-grown’ strawberries are set to be sweeter and juicier than ever due to the delay to the start of the summer season. Production is expected to exceed last year’s 51,626 tonnes supplied to UK supermarkets*. By popping up in Central London the BLOOM Pick Your Own Strawberries pop-‐up will ensure both rural and urban residents get the opportunity to taste these quintessentially British berries at their best.

BLOOM is best served with one of Britain’s finest fruits, the strawberry. The floral notes of the chamomile, subtle candied notes of the honeysuckle and light citrus notes of the pomelo are perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the fresh strawberries. Simply add tonic for a twist on this classic Gin & Tonic serve.
Ingredients
50ml BLOOM London Dry Gin
200ml Fentimans Tonic water
3 British strawberries
Method
1. Quarter the 3 strawberries
2. Place strawberries at the bottom of a tall glass
3. Add ice
4. Pour BLOOM London Dry Gin over the ice
5. Top with Fentimans Tonic water
