Why Red Tea?
Inspired whilst travelling in Australia and with their backgrounds in the spa and retail
product sector, Susan and Tony Tompkins were excited and inspired to discover the
Red Tea range.
Susan Tompkins, a leading expert within the spa industry was on the Board of Directors at The Sanctuary Covent Garden for ten years and was the driving force behind the Company’s success. It was through Susan’s international spa consultancy projects, which included Chiva-Som Health Resort in Thailand, that she became interested in developing more exotic, indulgent treatments. This led onto spa products, blending Eastern culture and fragrances with Western techniques. With Susan’s product insight and entrepreneurial
flair, developing The Sanctuary product range was a natural and highly successful progression. Tony Tompkins launched The Sanctuary Covent Garden product range in 1998.
Tony’s approach to this new retail opportunity was key to its huge success. Under his leadership The Sanctuary products became an International Brand and one of the most successful body-care and skincare ranges in Boots. He sold the product Company in 2005.
