Emily H London has announced its debut capsule collections for Spring/Summer 2013. The collections, made up of earrings, rings and cufflinks, are a first for the design house, previously recognised for its exquisite bespoke and ethically produced fine jewellery. The new collections remain true to the brand’s roots in original design, with personalised and interchangeable pieces featuring throughout. Influenced by natural beauty and spiritual worlds, the designs display the finesse and attention to detail the Emily H London brand has been founded on. Emily H London prides itself on exceptional quality in terms of cut, carat, clarity and colour and, most importantly, ensures that each stone is ethically sourced and responsibly mined.
To encourage the use of ethical stones in the fine jewellery industry, Emily H London has also curated the 8C* Collection- a collection of responsibly sourced stones available for purchase by jewellery designers and dealers, all of which can be traced back to their source, ensuring their quality and ethical credentials.
The Eve of Milady Collection
This collection is classic and sophisticated, influenced by the clean lines and understated elegance of the art-deco era. The collection features a pair of stunning earrings incorporating two 6-carat emeralds and diamonds set in white gold. Accompanying them is a matching ring; an 8-carat emerald encircled by glistening diamonds. The emeralds are old mine colour from the Muzo mine in Columbia and the diamond baquettes were individually cut for this set to create the seamless polished look.
The Emilia Collection
Influenced by the natural beauty of winding vines and flower buds, the Emilia collection is made up of sumptuous amethysts and citrine, surrounded by sparkling leaves studded with tsavorite gems and yellow diamonds.
Consisting of five interchangeable pieces, the collection’s earrings can be worn as studs or transformed into longer drop pendants, allowing the client to experience a sense of ownership and personality over their jewellery, creating a bespoke design of their own.
The collection also features a show-stopping ring; a rich amethyst centerpiece held in place with four 18-carat gold leaves with tsavorites and yellow diamonds.
Celestial Collection
Emily H London’s debut gentleman’s line, the Celestial Collection, is made up of a limited edition range of cufflinks. Each pair is made entirely of 18ct white gold and features two centre stones of natural tanzanite or emerald, according to the client’s specifications. The cufflinks are accented with small brilliant diamonds that can be arranged to represent a symbol or initials to personalise the piece. The bar is hollow, allowing for a scroll containing a personal message or a prayer to be concealed.
The Haute Joaillerie Bespoke Service
Emily H London’s origins are in bespoke design, and this service continues to be a key feature of the brand’s identity. The journey begins with a consultation to discuss ideas and inspirations to coincide with budget specifications; Yana works closely with the client to create a series of preliminary sketches to establish a design direction. Work then begins to source the finest ethical gemstones to create an entirely individual piece.
Emily H London liaises closely with its goldsmith based in Rome at every stage to ensure the design is meticulously crafted to the exact specifications. The result is a bespoke piece of jewellery that tells a truly personal story-an item to be treasured for generations.
About The Designer
Creative Director Yana Zaikin was born in St Petersburg, Russia, where she completed her degree in Fine Art from the University of St Petersburg, later receiving tenure at the Gemological Institute of America. It was her decision to design herself a ring, as well as bespoke pieces for family and friends, that propelled Yana into her career as a fine jewellery designer.
Aside from designing jewellery, Yana is passionate in her mission to raise awareness within the diamond industry for ethical fine jewellery, striving for complete transparency in the sourcing of stones. To support the cause, Yana has founded the 8C Foundation*, which aims to ensure pure, certified Fair-trade diamonds and precious stones that will deliver real economic justice to all those involved in their extraction and production.
Yana’s passion for design and her instinctive understanding of the personal meaning and emotional significance of jewellery has led the designer to create some truly inspiring pieces, both for bespoke clients and in her three debut collections.
