“I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot!” Marilyn Monroe

Let’s face it – we are never going to stop wearing high heels.

Nearly 93% of women say that heels make them feel sexier, 91 % – more attractive, 88% more stylish and 67% – happier. There is an undeniable feel-good good factor, despite more than half of the heel-lovers always experience pain and discomfort towards the end of the day.

To help resolve the issue and make wearing heels more pleasurable and less of a challenge, Carnation Footcare invited journalists and podiatry experts to the elegant Goring Hotel on 28th June for a ‘Walking in Heels’ press conference. The hotel, which became especially famous after the Royal Wedding, is a unique heritage place, being still in the hands of the family who run it since 1910.

It was certainly an ideal venue for the presentation by Carnation Footcare experts, who are proud of having been looking after the nation’s feet health for almost 85 years. Carnation Footcare are dedicated to achieving the best results, while preserving the natural beauty and healthy look of the feet.

Their fabulous range of  products offers a solution almost every foot problem out there. We particularly loved a small elegant wax stick, which acts like a soft plaster – one application stops the painful friction and prevents the appearance of blisters, while being absolutely invisible! It is a definite advantage, as plasters can often look ugly, especially with strap sandals or elaborate evening shoe wear.

It is worth to make sure that they add to the glamour of our look, and not ruin it. Carnation foot creams will be perfect for those who are looking for a quick relief from hardened or cracked heels skin.

Footcare Podiatrist Dave Wain warned that the unnatural slope of stilettos can damage feet and lower leg muscles. But it is possible to walk in a pair of shoes with a 3 or 4 inch heel, just choose your shoes carefully! He recommended workouts to strengthen your most vulnerable areas and explained how we can use Carnation products to make our feet healthy for more comfortable walking.

The famous etiquette expert Liz Brewer shared her top tips for wearing high heels with grace, confidence and minimal pain. Liz is known through her many celebrity clients, as well as her work in the radio and TV.
