Get set for some spine-chilling fun and games at Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway this Halloween.
On Tuesday October 30 and Wednesday October 31 visitors can discover spooky goings on in the Room of Darkness and, if they dare, enter the Cavern of Witchy Woo and hear her tales of ghosts and ghouls. There will be a special edition Halloween Quiz in the Model Railway Exhibition and Halloween themed party food to feast upon, including hot dogs, jelly served with tasty ‘eye balls’ and red hot chocolate. A spookylicious Buffet Tea will be served at 3.50pm in the Café followed by games.
Plus, those visitors who dress up will get an extra treat. Every child in fancy dress will receive a goody bag.
Take your seats in your reserved carriage for your 3.10pm departure from Hythe Station, arriving in New Romney at 3.40pm. At 5.15pm your return train will depart but make sure you keep your eyes peeled and look out for some sinister characters as you pass through the Tunnel. A fun filled spooky time is guaranteed for all!
How to get there
The stations at New Romney, Dymchurch and Hythe are all on or near the A259, which gives direct access from the Kent and Sussex coast. Hythe Station is only three miles from the M20 junction 11 and New Romney Station is 30 minutes from M20 junction 10 at Ashford, via the A2070 and A259, which makes the RH&DR easily accessible from London, the M25, the Channel Ports and the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone. Follow the brown information signs on most routes. There are car parks at all major stations.
