To celebrate their 175th anniversary Hermès are opening Leather Forever the sister space of the Royal Academy of Art. The exhibition, dedicated to their legendary leather craftsmanship and tracing the brand’s history though the decades, will be a fascinating journey through the time. Amongst many known and iconic items Hermès have created in the past, it will illustrate a transformation from a saddle and harness-maker into a world-famous luxury handbags and accessories brand. Artisans from Hermès’ workshops in France will be making some of the house’s iconic bags live in the exhibition.
