On the prominent corner of Rue Lepic and Rue des Abbesses, and climbing the hill of Montmartre, Le Pain Quotidien now takes a place in this legendary Parisian neighborhood
Filled with the spirit of world-renowned artists such as Dalí and Picasso, art galleries and artisanal shops preserve the rich and colorful atmosphere for which Montmartre is famous. In keeping with the independent spirit of this vibrant quarter, we have turned to Alain Coumont, Founder, for special design guidance, incorporating surprises into this Le Pain Quotidien.
The demolition of the former shop has exposed amazing architectural details. The ceiling was removed to uncover beautiful beams from the original construction, and windows long since plastered over were revealed to flood the space with light. Colorful tiles adorn the floor and walls in a unique dining room below ground and in the retail section at the entrance.
A splendid display of everything from tarts to tartines can be found here at any time of day. And there’s always enough fresh bread to go around!
