Deep Body Work at Anamaya

Anamaya is a contemporary stylish well being centre, offering a unique dazzling array of treatments

Anamaya is a newly opened clinic situated in a quiet street in the Kensington area. The well being clinic is of a contemporary style, with neutral tones that tend to create a feeling of grounding, something that is so sought after on some level whilst living in urban areas. Anamaya is the co-creative manifestation of Roz Sulivan of Float spa in Westborne Grove, and Graham Doke, of Deep Release Body Work. If you have been seeking treatments that reach deeper levels, then look no further, as Anamaya delivers results you may have dreamed of and searched for years. I have enjoyed many massages over the years, and each has been wonderful with the various specialized expertise offered, yet I could always feel some part of me screaming – please go deeper! My muscles need a more intense massage! Graham is one of three masseurs known in the world to use such deep techniques, thus he is a shining star in the world of masseurs, and one to welcome you to discover and recover your vitality and serenity. I think at various times we have all felt an overwhelming need for a firm massage that will iron out all the knots of tension. The ironing out process is definitely something to welcome, although the passage into and through may feel rather cathartic, and a little tender. Graham has immense experience and knowledge of the body, and intuitively focuses on areas of tension and resistance, and will move you through whatever is holding you back from releasing this tension. Often you may feel that the body is acknowledged during a treatment, but not the mind or emotions, whereas Graham moves you through the process of integrating the mind and body.

During the session, I refrained from wondering what the tension signified, and focused on allowing my body to exist and feel in new ways, as the deep release body work opens your body into a new space and way of being, as the old tension is released. Graham holds a beautiful serene space of non-judgment, yet firmly moves you through the necessary process so that you may arrive at a space of greater potential, which is entirely possible and probable through body work that moves deeply enough to effectively release old patterns that are held in the body, how we hold ourselves, and in our mind set that determines the life we experience. Following the bodywork session, all is revealed regarding what exactly was revealed during the bodywork. Graham assists you to move into a space of non-judgment, and teaches you how to observe rather than react to situations where you may feel there is an injustice.

To allow the movement back out into the world, Graham recommends spending some time in the lovely ultra trendy meditation room listening to some wonderful calming music. I applaud this approach, as you feel ready to face the busy street following this gentler emergence. Perhaps it is even necessary, given the depths that are touched during the bodywork.

Graham also teaches group meditation, and assists athletes with support during events.

Deep Body Work Sessions are £120 for 90-minute session.
