Camellia’s Tea House

From traditional English Tea, to rare tea and health blends, there is something to suit every preference

For tea connoisseurs, Camellia’s Tea House is the perfect Tea House to experience a wide variety of tea blends and some sought after rare teas. I was met by the delightfully enthusiastic Lubna, who shared her wonderful story of her passage from beauty, to homeopathic health and finally arriving to her mission of sourcing amazing tea to create some lovely sounding blends, including her health tea creations.

As she opened the large black jars, the fragrant aroma of high quality tea wafted up, delighting my senses. Two of the teas caught my attention, firstly the China White Hair, which is actually a green tea that is grown high in the mountain tea estates, surrounded by fog most of the time. The leaves look very delicate and the scent is delicate floral. The second tea to gain my attention was Formosa Oolong Top Fancy, an extremely rare tea with a stronger floral fragrance. Cameilla offered to make a pot of each of the two teas that I was most fascinated by.

The name chosen for the Tea Shop, Camellia, originates from botanical name Camellia Sinensis, a plant that produces teas.

Camellia’s The House caters for vegetarians or non-vegetarians alike. I was brought cucumber and mint and egg sandwiches, fruit scones with delicious cream and strawberry jam and some delicious looking cakes. Lubna shared how many people visit the teashop to enjoy the ambience and inspire their creative writing genius. As I gazed around the beautiful teashop, and felt the warm atmosphere envelope around me, I could understand indeed just how ones creativity might be sparked. If Cameilla’s Tea House was local to me, I might imagine visiting very often. As I lingered over my exquisite rare teas, both prepared to perfection, I watched people from all walks of life enjoy their afternoon tea.
