For the first time ever in the UK, the Royal Albert Hall will be providing behind the scenes access to one of its most popular events and a worldwide phenomenon, Cirque du Soleil, which returns to the Hall between January 4th-February 16th 2014 with its show Quidam. As part of an exclusive extra for those who book into the VIP Box Experience, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the inner workings of Cirque and what it’s like to experience the thrill of being part of a creative production unlike any other.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes on backstage at a Cirque du Soleil show and wanted to meet some of the faces that put the whole show together then this is an opportunity not to be missed. With guaranteed early VIP entry, guests will be treated to a pre-show meet and greet and Q+A with a tour or crew member before the world class performers, including aerial contortionists, trapeze acts, jugglers and gravity defying acrobats, take to the stage. Post- show, guests will be treated to a backstage tour where they will be able to meet some of the cast and be granted photo opportunities with specific artists who have just performed in the show.
As part of the VIP Box Experience, these are available for groups of 4, 8 or 12 (up to 20) people on Thursday or Friday evening performances (for the first 5 weeks of the run). As part of this package, guests will also be treated to a private box to watch the show with early VIP access, champagne, beer and soft drinks, a selection of canapés and hot bowl food as well as a private waiter in the box and a souvenir programme and gift per person.
Commenting on this new first at the venue, Jasper Hope, Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Albert Hall said: ‘Going backstage at the Royal Albert Hall when Cirque du Soleil are in residence is the ultimate thrill for anyone interested in how magical memories are made. This is a unique opportunity and will make for a breath-taking VIP entertainment experience.’
Claudine Rivard, Company Manager on Quidam, said ‘The magic continues after the red curtain has dropped! Quidam is excited to give you a behind-the-scene glimpse with our cast and crew. No clown noses needed, just your camera!’
Quidam had its world premiere in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996. Since that time, the production has toured on five continents and been experienced by millions of people. The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters. The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world. Cirque du Soleil itself has brought wonder and delight to more than 100 million spectators in more than 300 cities in over forty countries on six continents.
