At this time of year we all start to think about our new Spring/ Summer vintage wardrobe, and the catwalks were awash with a vintage touch… Anita’s first vintage fashion fair of the new year is a petite and exclusive event of 28 exhibitors but sure packs in all the glamour and exceptional quality vintage fashion, accessories, textiles and trimmings dating from 1800 to 1980’s. From floor to ceiling the beautiful old theatre will be brimful with an array of vintage delights to discover all at fantastic prices.
From Great Gatsby Glam… luxurious silks, organza, pearls and of course an abundance of sequins. To the fabulous and Flirty Fifties with feminine cinched silhouettes, perfect for the forthcoming month of Valentine.
Ours is like no other Vintage Fashion Fair; it is an Aladdin’s cave of real treasures including vintage designers such as Pucci, YSL, Gucci, Dior, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, Ozzie Clark, Biba, Cardin, Eley Kishimoto, Norman Hartnell, Jean Veron, and many others. You can find anything, from silk organza dresses to beautiful vintage handbags and exquisite jewellery.
Why not treat yourself to a slice of the trends with original decade pieces that will instantly and authentically update any wardrobe. Vintage is the source of many designers inspiration allowing you to even be ahead of the current seasons while remaining unique and expressing your true individuality.
It is great fun browsing through the rails and talking to the knowledgeable, experienced exhibitors – quite often you can find yourself browsing alongside one of the many famous modern designers, stylists or celebrities who are regular visitors to our fairs – including Nicole Farhi, Julien Mcdonald, Paul Smith, Alice Temperley, Maggie Gyllenhall, Annie Lennox, Bob Geldof, Lily Cole, and many more.
AVFF resident vintage Fashion illustrator Madalen Dixon can be found at the fair capturing the day and selling her beautiful pieces of art. Madalen not only designed our poster for this fair, but she also restores vintage accessories and creates stunning jewellery pieces. Madalen’s prints start from as little as £5.
Also, on hand are the fantastic alterations duo, Recycle & Sew, experts in restorations and alterations of beautiful design clothing from 1920 to 1980s. With care and love they can repair and revamp any vintage pieces and help achieve the all-important perfect fit…Whats more they can do it all while you shop around the fair! Be sure to check out Anita’s famous Vintage Cafe which is the perfect shopping retreat inside the fair. You may even find Anita herself serving the crowds a selection of homemade cakes, and delicacies including a range of refreshments and English tea.

I always go to the one at Hammersmith Town Hall, but this fair looks much more massive and less expensive to get in! I’ve got to persuade my boyfriend to come with me. Thanks for the information,Semperey.
Do you guys call 1980′s vintage? But I might be able to find something for my mum. She often wears the dresses from her generation.

Generally vintage is considered to be clothing from the 1920s to 1960s, but many people refer to the fashion from the 1980s as vintage, too. Whatever your taste is, the fair is definitely worth visiting. And you are right, Jody & Kelly, the cheap entrance fee is definitely an advantage!

Not necessarily!:) Who knows, maybe we are still going to wear clothes from the 1930s in some 20 years time?
