AnimAlarm is delighted to announce its launch into the pet market.
A revolutionary new technology, AnimAlarm measures the temperature inside cars or caravans and informs the owner by mobile phone if there is a change.
The RSPCA is called out to 6,000 dogs in distress every year. Even on a cool day, the temperature inside a car can double the outside temperature in less than 20 minutes due to its ‘greenhouse’ effect.
By setting the temperature AnimAlarm will automatically send an alert to mobile phones when this is reached. As well as the device sending an alert, owners can ring or send a text to it at any time from any phone to get a current reading.
AnimAlarm is manufactured in the UK and developed with veterinary advice from Nick Horniman of Pets Barn Veterinary Group. AnimAlarm is the first product by entrepreneur inventor Victoria Davison.
“I have many years’ experience travelling with animals,” says Victoria. “I left my two Jack Russells in my car for 10 minutes when I popped to the bank. Having got stuck in a queue, on my return to the car the temperature had become worryingly warm. I was extremely stressed by this incident, and searched extensively but found no temperature device that could do what I wanted it to – so I designed my own!”
A study by Stanford University shows that, regardless of the outside temperature, the inside of a car can reach a lethal temperature in less than 30 minutes. And keeping the windows slightly open hardly slows the rise at all. Even at a moderate 18 degrees centigrade external temperature, the interior of a car can reach 50 degrees centigrade very quickly.
It is hoped AnimAlarm will educate pet owners about the perils of leaving dogs in cars by showing them how rapidly they heat up. As the only the only portable system that displays the temperature, AnimAlarm so easy to use – owners don’t even have to be computer literate! It is compatible with all mobile phones, regardless of network, and no contract is necessary. It features solar powered charging, up to 30 days battery life (on eco mode), car and USB charging options, low battery warning text alerts and both Celsius or Fahrenheit options.
