Aloka’s blue facades welcome you through its doors into the calming ambience of a spacious foyer. You are warmly greeted by the staff and immediately feel a sense of bliss as you let your eyes wander freely over the white-washed décor of the interior.
Spanning over five floors, Aloka offers everything from deep-cleansing spa and beauty treatments to rejuvenating yoga sessions. These are all provided by an expert team of trained professionals who regularly revise their skills so they can maintain their consistently exceptional service. The treatments are all based on Aloka’s unique Aura-Soma products, which are colorfully arranged around the three Mediterranean-themed therapy rooms. They complement the luxury lighting and healing crystals which serenely set the mood.
The Aura-Soma range is integrated into the ‘Colour Therapy System’ designed for facials and massages. Herb infusions, rose quartz particles and the all-important pure organic oils are blended in small glass phials to produce pigmented liquids. This process is believed to encourage ‘‘resolution, change, and to restore balance and harmony’’. Guests are asked to begin by selecting three of these bottles (from a choice of over one hundred!), through which the therapist interprets your spiritual and emotional needs. They are astonishingly accurate.
The Aura-Soma products form part of the AEOS collection, a high-organic content range for the skin and body. They are developed at Aloka’s personally-owned biodynamic ‘Dev Farm’ in Lincolnshire, where staff regularly go to acquire product knowledge. Aura-Soma have just launched the new ‘Pegasus’ perfume range, containing their distinctive organic oils and energizing crystal elements. The products have already been pounced on by the Japanese, with whispers of expanding into organic makeup. With a clearly inventive approach to beauty therapy, the brand is set to go global.
Aloka houses two healthy dining options for guests. Vegan and vegetarian visitors are invited to the sumptuous buffet on the lower floor whilst upstairs an enticing restaurant serves a dazzling array of organic, unprocessed, ‘enzyme intact’ dishes. All meals are specially prepared on the premises by Aloka’s specialist chefs.
